- Work room/Workshop and these sections operate as follows:-
- THE CIRCULATION/REFERENCE DESK
This is located at the entrance where all information materials like novels, text books, news papers are issued out upon registration. Reference and consultation services are also conducted at this section as well as guidance on where to find what information material. Text books for class room use are also issued and cleared from this desk. Being at the entrance, it serves as a security control centre in the library for the good of library holdings. Teachers also record the reading materials whenever they take them for their personal research and they are free to access any information material they feel like.
2. THE OPEN ACCESS/READING SECTION
This covers the biggest geographical percentage of the library. It is equipped with multiple copies of library holdings. The materials are shelved on the basis of subjects. Individual reading takes place within this section and students are free to access it whenever their time table allows them to do so. Discussions are completely not allowed in the reading room to avoid disruption of other users. Students usually borrow these reading materials within this section on an individual basis with the aid of their identity cards as security for the borrowed materials. Students are usually given a maximum of two days to return the borrowed textbooks but however language students are given an opportunity to borrow reading materials on a termly basis. Students are also allowed to read news papers on a daily basis especially on break time in order to keep them updated on the National issues.
3. THE BOOK BANK/STORE
Holdings in this section are mainly accessed for lessons/classes under teachers guidance. Only class Captains have the authority to collect these reading materials for classroom use. These books are recorded whenever they are taken outside as well as when they are returned from classrooms.
4. THE RESERVE SECTION
This contains at least three copies of all the reading materials in the library. This section is out of bounds and only the Library staff have the authority to access it.
5. THE DIGITAL SECTION
Here specific programmes were designed to fit the demands of O & A -Levels. The Cyber programme was designed for O-levels and it contains the Virtual laboratory as well as digital science related reading materials. It also contains Britanica Encyclopaedia for research which is mostly used by the A-level students. Due to the shortage of computers in the Digital Library, the School Administration is working very hard to increase on their numbers so that the entire school can benefit at ounce.
6. THE WORK ROOM/WORKSHOP
It is usually accessed by the library staff and this is where all damaged reading materials are repaired. Book processing is also done in this room before books are taken to their respective shelves.
