The Students body is led and managedby a Prefects Council which is led by the head boy and head girl.

THE PREFECTORATE

Patron: First Deputy Headmaster

This is a structured body comprising 43 members who are liable to change, in case of new challenges faces by the school administration.
Male prefects take up the large portion of the board compared to the female prefects
This is as a result of the recent addition of the junior house prefects, who work hand in hand with the senior house prefects that tend to reside from the complex building away from their houses. The board is spearheaded by the patron, Mr.Kasozi Muga, who happens to be the deputy headmaster and is devoted to his work in this area.

Leadership in the school is not a one-man activity, but is open to all. Therefore students are enrolled into leadership through the following measures:

Democracy is highly upheld during this exercise by the use of written applications by the aspiring candidates. These have to be elected in case their applications are justified.
The aspiring candidates are screened by a specific group of teachers who impose challenging questions to prove the candidates’ capability the posts in which they propose to stand.
Satisfying candidates qualify for the standing in the tentative posts. Such feedback is availed after sometime from the screening exercise.
Successful candidates are forwarded to the campaigning exercise in which they are accompanied by a group of supporting teams t backup the presentation of their manifestos.

The voting exercise is ushered in and supervised by the school administration by use of ballot box.
Results are promulgated on the same day by the administration to the convened school at large.
Meanwhile a few students with capability are appointed for certain vacant posts.
The successful candidates are forwarded for the swearing in ceremony spearheaded by he school chaplain and head of the electoral commission. This is accompanied by the signing as proof to their actions in service.

There is a handover ceremony that involves the transfer of office from the predecessors and the cordial party crowns it all.
The outgoing body later enjoys a picnic in a later stage. This marks the beginning of the orientation program for new prefects.

Symbols of identification
There are usually ties and tags as part of their school uniform.
Their special considerations involve privileges as a sing of appreciation to their creditable works and to encourage them not to reject their duties.

Organisation/structure of the body
Different prefects are assigned duty on particular weeks. Weekly meetings are held throughout the term and are liable to attendance of the headmaster, the patron, the masters on duty and all the prefects.

The majority of the prefects are from Senior 2 to Senior 6.
The office of timekeeper is particularly left for 2 students from S.2.
Numerous departments exist for all prefects which only meet when need arises.
The close coordination with the administration is mainly through the patron of the prefectorate or the masters on duty. The following are the departments:

  1. Executive:
    It consists of the Head Prefect (as Chairman), the Head girl (as vice chairman), and the Junior Deputy Head boy and head girl as secretaries, while the senior deputy head boy, senior deputy head girl and head monitor are all members.
    Duties
    • They meet at the beginning of the term and whenever need arises during the course of the term.
    • Make effective decisions that govern the school.
    • To supervise good organisation through making duty rotas.
    • They group the body I the departments.
    • Responsible for ensuring good discipline and conduct in the school.
    • Ensure the implementation if the school policies.
  2. Disciplinary:
    It is composed of 6 members chosen or elected by fellow prefects at the beginning of the term of office. These include:
    • Chairman
    • Vice chairman
    • Secretary
    • Two punishment officers
    • Overseer
    • Head boy
    • Head girl

    Objectives:

    • Ensure maximum discipline among students
    • Handling any case in indiscipline, giving serous punishments.
    • Failure of reformation, the student is forwarded to the staff Disciplinary committee.
    • Make regular reports to the staff disciplinary committee through eh chairman or the secretary.
  3. Chapel:
    The chapel prefects who work under the supervision on the school chaplain lead this.
    Objectives:
    • Ensuring discipline in the chapel
    • Provide spiritual nourishment to students
    • Handle and supervise chapel activities
    • Link up students with the chaplain
    • Oversee all religious act ivies in the school.
  4. Sanitary:
    Is headed by the sanitary prefect. The objectives are:
    • To ensure general cleanliness of the school campus, I the dormitory areas and amongst the students themselves.
    • Maintaining cleanliness of the sickbay.
  5. Class inspection:
    Headed by the junior deputy prefects. These are carried out daily. The cleanest class is given a token of appreciation at the end of the term. The objectives are:
    • To ensure cleanliness I the classrooms and that the cleaning is done before classes begin.
  6. Academic/prep:
    Headed by the head monitor and the senior deputy head girl. The objectives are:
    • The ensure that prep is attended by all students.
    • Ensure maximum discipline in all the academic programs.
    • Ensure that roll call is taken in prep.
    • Encouraging students to utilise preps for their academic achievement.
    • Ensuring that teachers attend to remedial lessons.
    • Analysing the academic performance of students.
    • Ensuring that the library has enough academic materials to improve performance.
